The main symptoms for uretric injury include:
- Flank pain
- Fever and sepsis
- Renal failure
The actual medical cause of this type of injury is damage to either of the ureters.
These injuries can be caused by a number of different factors but are most likely to have been sustained through an accident such as:
- A fall, slip or trip
- A road traffic accident
- Negligent surgical procedures
- A wounding
Treatments for this kind of injury will be recommended by a medical professional but can include:
- Surgical repair, often in several stages
- Nephrectomy, kidney removal
