Mark initially qualified as a barrister in 1990 before becoming a member of the Law Society and re-qualifying as a solicitor in 1995.
Since that time, he has been in private practice specialising in Criminal defence work, amassing a wealth of experience in all areas of criminal law, with particular emphasis and expertise in serious crime and commercial fraud matters, representing clients in cases of the utmost seriousness including complex fraud, MTIC/multi-cell VAT frauds, drug trafficking, people trafficking, murder, corporate manslaughter, firearms offences, robberies, money laundering, proceeds of crime and sexual offences.
He has a degree in Business Law which underpins his understanding of the often complex and abstruse issues involved in fraud cases. Renowned for his exhaustive pre-trial preparation, his attention to detail has led to the successful defence of large and complex cases prosecuted by the Crown Prosecution Service, Serious Fraud Office, National Crime Agency and Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs.
