Amy Hofmeister, a 13 year old girl, was killed whilst riding her bicycle by an unlicensed driver, in Somerset on June 15th. Her mother now wishes to launch a campaign to raise awareness for road safety.

Amy was hit by Leonard Jones who admitted to causing death by dangerous driving and driving with no insurance and no licence. Mr Jones has not yet been sentenced.

Mrs Hofmeister said she has received the upmost support from her local community and now wishes to give back by starting her road safety campaign. She has expressed that she wants Mr Jones to receive a sentence that fits the crime he committed. Mrs Hofmeister stated that she “had been given a life sentence” by the actions of Jones.
