New figures, from between 2009 and the beginning of 2011, have revealed that a number of 15 year old children have been caught drink driving. Drivers in the UK cannot apply for a provisional driving licence until they are 17 years of age and it has come as a shock that 15 years olds have been behind the wheel driving.

Lancashire police have said they are constantly looking at ways to improve road safety and drink driving is always one of the biggest causes of injuries and fatalities. Although a number of motorists do get caught drink driving, the hope is to educate people so that they do not drink and drive at all. Road safety charities are trying to lower the drink driving limit as the UK has one of the highest in Europe.
