Traffic Light Offences

Prosecutions for traffic light violations may arise when a police officer claims to have seen a violation or, as is increasingly the case, through the use of camera detection equipment.

In all cases, it must be shown that the lights were correctly operational and that any detection device was in proper working order.

Punishment

A fine, 3 penalty points and discretionary disqualification.
