Dangerous Toy Claims
If a family member has come into contact with a dangerous toy and have suffered as a result then you can and should claim compensation from the retailers, importers or manufacturers of these products (on occasion from all 3!). We are the experts in handling dangerous toy claims.
Toxic Face Paints
Recently parents up and down the country were warned to ensure that they check before buying face painting kits for their children after it was revealed that thousands of packs contain lead. The Tartan Collection face painting kits have been imported from China and have been sold by a company in Salford, Manchester to a number of retail outlets throughout the UK.
Lead face paint can cause brain damage in very young children and as of December 2012 only just over 300 of the packs have been recalled out of the 7,000. Joel Cope who owns Chelford Ltd who received the stock from China has been ordered to pay £14,000 by Manchester Magistrates’ Court for breaching product safety laws.
Manufacturers have a duty to make the products they sell sufficiently safe for children to handle. If a product has been found to be manufactured negligently and you or a loved one have been injured as a result then providing the manufacturer is within the EU then an action can be brought against them directly. If the manufacturer is outside the EU then an action should be brought against the importer or the retailer.
